Worship Team Associate

Major Position Responsibilities:

  • Relational Ministry and Discipleship: Work to continue a culture of accompaniment that fosters discipleship through ministry, music, and sacraments in a parish setting.
  • Pastoral Care: Offer a supportive presence to parishioners in times of personal growth, challenge, and difficulty. Provide a safe environment for open dialogue and emotional support, nurturing the spiritual, emotional, and psychological well-being of all.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with parishioners, Worship Team members, parish staff, and clergy to ensure seamless coordination of all liturgical activities, integration into parish life, and alignment with the overall mission of the church.
  • Outreach and Evangelization: Develop strategies to attract and engage new parishioners while maintaining connections with current members through liturgy and music. Foster a sense of evangelization and mission through our passion for an enriching liturgical experience within the community.
  • Leadership Development: Recruit, train, and minister to liturgical ministers, baptism and funeral ministers, along with parish families. Identify and nurture leadership potential within our parishioners, empowering them to take active roles within the ministry and larger church community while guiding them on their own faith journeys.
  • Administration: Manage resources and materials necessary for liturgy and Sacraments. Maintain accurate records, scheduling, and communication channels to keep parishioners and clergy informed while maintaining budget adherence.
  • Professional Growth: Stay updated on current trends in liturgy and music. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions as necessary to enhance skills and knowledge, e.g. NPM (National Association of Pastoral Musicians).

Qualifications

  • Practicing Catholic with a strong commitment to the teachings and values of the Catholic Church.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Liturgy, Divinity, Pastoral Studies, Music, or a related field.
  • Several years’ experience in ministry, music ministry, or liturgy in a parish setting.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to connect with parishioners and clergy on a personal level and inspire the parishioners in their faith journey.
  • Proficiency in using technology for communication and outreach.
