This tradition of over 2,000 years is based on our foundational belief in the Resurrection of Jesus — those who have died with him in faith will rise again in hope. Burial in a Catholic cemetery is a reaffirmation of that faith and a statement proclaiming your belief in Christ's words — I am the Resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me, even if he dies, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. (John 11:24)
