All Souls Rememberance

Help us “Gather Them Home” Through Our All Souls Remembrance Ministry

In observance of Pope Francis’ decree regarding the disposition of cremated remains, on Thursday, November 2nd, 2023 the archdiocese will offer to people of all faiths the opportunity to inter the cremated remains of their loved ones in a community space at one of our cemeteries, preceded by a celebration of mass.

Please contact the cemetery you are interested in placing cremated remains at for further details.

This service is provided free of charge but registrations are required! (see below)

The deadline to register is Friday, October 27th, 2023.

All cremated remains will be placed in the All Souls Remembrance Crypt for five years after the signing of our Burial Authorization Form. After five years have passed, unclaimed cremated remains will be removed from the crypt and interred in a full-sized, in-ground grave with other such cremated remains.

Families who later decide to reinter the cremated remains to a private space within one of our eight Catholic Cemeteries or at another cemetery will be responsible for those costs.

The act of burying the dead is consistent with our belief that the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and deserves respect at all stages of existence. For a wide variety of reasons, families may have not yet provided for the final disposition of the cremated remains of family members. The cremated remains are often taken home with plans for proper disposition at some time in the future. Since many times cremated remains are never retrieved from the funeral home or crematory, those sites will also be offered the same opportunity to bring forth remains for respectful disposition.
